About Oakbourne Equestrian Center
Oakbourne Equestrian Center was started in 2008 by Heather Matejkovic and Tony Dattilo. Heather is the head trainer and specializes in Hunter/Jumpers as well as competes and trains in the lower levels of Eventing. Oakbourne offers full board, riding lessons for children (age 6 and above) and adults (welcome beginner riders to advanced and those looking for a tune-up!), sale horses are also offered and limited spaces are available for horses in training. The farm is located in West Chester, PA convinent to routes 202, 926 and route 3. It is easily accesible to Unionville and Chadds Ford!
Heather, an avid rider for the last 15 plus years, has dedicated her life to horses. At age 8 she began riding ponies in the Hunter Circuit before graduating to a horse. Competing locally and at the rated shows she brought home many championships and year end awards including finishing 6th in the County. She had the opportunity to compete at the Devon Horse Show, bringing home ribbons, before switching to Eventing. She joined the United States Eventing Association (USEA) and had the opportunity to compete up and down the East Coast. In 2006 she qualified and competed in the Area II Championships and was named the 6th best rider with her horse in the Country. Today Heather still competes in the Hunter/Jumper ring as well as attends as many Events as possible. Her passion is passing on her knowledge of horse management and her riding skills to developing riders and horses.
